Cedar Desk Dental front-desk recovery
Current capability

What Cedar Desk currently does.

Recovery workflows

Missed calls, diary gaps, and routine recall replies become visible recovery work with review points and next actions.

Booking truth

Booking cases stay explicit as booked, pending, needs review, handled manually, failed, blocked, or unresolved.

Conservative reporting

Reporting separates reviewed work, contacted patients, booking opportunities, booked outcomes, unresolved cases, and manually handled cases.

Manual-first posture

What stays manual during a pilot.

Human judgement

Urgent wording, uncertain patient replies, booking exceptions, blocked syncs, and ambiguous routing stay visible for staff or founder review.

PMS work

Booking confirmation, patient record changes, diary edits, and PMS corrections remain practice-owned unless a specific write-back path is proven and approved.

Data needed

What the practice must provide.

  • Practice and branch name, location, timezone, and owner contact.
  • Current PMS and whether Dentally access or CSV fallback is the pilot path.
  • CSV exports for patients, providers, and appointment types when CSV fallback is used.
  • Messaging consent posture, opt-out constraints, and front-desk ownership rules.
  • Canary evidence before live use: outbound, inbound, STOP handling, missed-call handling, and operator visibility.
Rollout shape

How a first pilot should move.

01

Confirm fit

Review workflow pain, branch context, and pilot boundaries.

02

Prepare setup

Choose Dentally verification or CSV fallback, then configure messaging posture.

03

Prove readiness

Run setup checks and collect real canary evidence before any live branch launch.

PMS boundaries

What Cedar Desk will and will not touch.

Cedar Desk will

  • Read or import the minimum data needed for recovery workflows.
  • Keep booking state and follow-through visible.
  • Record manual booking outcomes and sync status.
  • Preserve audit trail around setup, support, and workflow actions.

Cedar Desk will not

  • Replace the PMS diary.
  • Silently edit patient records.
  • Treat suggested or pending bookings as confirmed revenue.
  • Write to the PMS unless the exact path is configured, tested, and approved.
Outcome measurement

Value reporting should stay conservative.

Cedar Desk should measure missed calls reviewed, patients contacted, booking opportunities created, booked outcomes, pending or unresolved cases, and manually handled cases. Sent, delivered, replied, reviewed, or ready-to-book activity is not recovered revenue.
